Q: What is window film made of?

Different polyesters are transformed during the manufacturing process to produce a thin, transparent film that adheres to glass when a pressure sensitive adhesive is activated by a mild solution of dishwashing detergent and water.

Q: I'm interested in window tint for my home. How much would that cost?

Q: Will the tint effect radio reception if the antenna is built into the back window?

Only the AM reception will be disrupted when any metallic film is applied to the rear window.

Q: How do I clean my windows to ensure it lasts as long as possible?

We recommend a non-ammonia cleaner and a soft cloth, such as a T-shirt. Vinegar and water (1 part vinegar to 10 parts water), or Windex with vinegar available at any store. Be sure to read the label that it does not contain ammonia. It you use a professional window cleaner let them know which windows are tinted.

Q: How will window-tinting affect my defroster and/or my ability to drive at night?

Window tinting actually helps to insulate the window and helps the defroster clear the glass of frost and fog quicker. And no, Window tint does not affect your ability at night. This is a very common mistaken belief. The truth is that unlike sunglasses which make it difficult to see at night, window tint is specially designed to reflect light and darken the windows from the outside without obstructing the driver’s ability to navigate the road. However, state laws have been made partially due to this misconception to protect drivers at night.

Q: I Often See Purple Bubbling Window Film On Cars. Will LLumar Film Do This Over Time?

No. Purple, bubbling film is a sign of a very low grade window film whose mounting adhesive and dye components have broken down. LLumar films are warranted against this, using more stable and advanced dye chemistries and/or permanent metal layers that do not discolor over time.
